Digital Marketing Strategies for 2016

2016 is the year to take your digital marketing strategy to the next level. Trends are constantly changing, so it’s time

to throw out outdated strategies, keep what works, and explore promising new trends.

Here are just a few that can improve your digital marketing game and boost your company’s sales for the new year.

1 – Go Organic

Paid advertisements and programs like Google Adwords can be effective for building an audience or customer base, but real success lies in organic growth. Forget paying for followers on Twitter or spending your entire marketing budget on ads that don’t get results. Your marketing strategy should be focused on creating meaningful content on social media and your website that will keep customers coming back for more. Organic growth is the single best way to build your business. It’s all about quality, not quantity!

 

2 – Have A Lead Magnet

This can be used in conjunction with a call-to-action (see tip 3) as well as a lead tripwire. Lead magnets are offers or incentives for buyers that can be bought with an exchange of information instead of money. This can be something like a free download of an e-book in exchange for a person’s contact information. The point is to have a transaction that provides value to both you and your customer. This builds trust between the two of you, and from there you can proceed to a lead tripwire. A lead tripwire is the same concept, but rather than offering it for free, you offer it for an incredibly low price. It’s not meant to be a money-maker; it’s meant to draw customers in and change them from an audience to paying participants.

 

3 – Create A Call-To-Action

Although this is something that will funnel customers to your lead magnet, and subsequently to the lead tripwire and core product, you should have all of these things in place already in order to create an effective CTA. The CTA is a powerful statement that convinces customers to take a particular action, such as sign up for a newsletter or, in this case, take your lead magnet offer. You’ll need more than just one CTA, however. Make sure that you place other CTAs across the board, such as on social media and in content marketing emails (see tip 4). This will generate more leads, which go on to become sales.

 

4 – Have A Plan

Digital marketing strategies are pretty useless if you don’t have a plan for how to implement them, right? Absolutely! 2015 digital marketing statistics revealed that businesses often didn’t know how to properly interpret data (such as customer behavior) or adequately measure their ROI. How can you create more effective strategies if you can’t measure what’s working and what’s not? Unfortunately, this is still a problem for businesses. Only 8% of businesses use an email marketing team. Email content marketing is considered the most effective way to measure ROI, so make sure to utilize it! Having accurate data is essential to creating an effective digital marketing plan.
